Pork Adobo is one of the famous Philippino foods in the world which is typically served with steamed rice.
Ingredients
1 kg pork
1 head garlic, minced
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
2 cups of water
4 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 teaspoon paprika
5 laurel leaves (bay leaves)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons water
Preparation
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a sauce pan, then stir fry the minced garlic and onions.
- Add the pork, water, soy sauce, vinegar, paprika and the bay leaves to the pan and cook it for 30 minutes.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in water and add to the pan to thicken the sauce.
- Add salt and/or pepper if desired.
- Serve hot with rice.
